I think that facebook is too big for Zuck to handle. I don't think that he had any malicious intent when he was scaling the business, but having over 2 billion people on a single platform allowing to share their minds and then calling it Facebook's fault is not a sustainable model. Not giving FB any credit or a break, I just think it's too large.
ReplyDeleteFacebook as a company has grown tremendously since its conception. I don't think I've meet anyone who hasn't heard of it at some point. I think the company grew too fast for the owners to keep up with and monitor everything happening.
ReplyDeletePrivacy has always been a big issue on social media sites. On one hand, people want to talk about themselves, come across as interesting, and share to their "friends" what they are up to. On the other hand, people don't want "friends" to know what they buy or the changes they make to their profile. If you really want privacy you have to go out of your way to keep your information private. For example, using duck duck go instead of google. - Daniela C
ReplyDeleteFacebook's privacy issue has definitely grown over the years. This is especially as other companies likely encourage more data collection from the platform in order to market and gain higher sales. This drive from both within the company and business to business deals has therefore created a catalyst for user privacy violations.
